As A Man Thinketh...

"For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he"

I remember being about eight years old when I found these words written in my mother's "inspirational" file, in her beautiful cursive writing. I was confused; it was old English (Thinketh? seriously?) , but I  was intrigued and always wondered what these words meant. Fast forward 9 years later, older and wiser, I understood what it really meant and this is what I want to share with you.

Quick ice breaker: these words are from the book of Proverbs in the Bible, verse 23:7, King James version. When King Solomon was writing this, he was writing a short story of humility, using an example of dining, I would say. In this text, he is saying that what a man thinks in his heart, is who is he is. In other words his thoughts on himself became the person he is.

This short but simple revelation on this verse became the fuel behind my new series called As A Man Thinketh #ThinkDifferent. In this series, based on Proverbs 23:7 , will talk about the power of thoughts and how they influence your life. I believe that as much as you have shifted focus to the other, better side of your life, there must be a renewal in the way you think of yourself. As much as I may inspire you with these posts, if you do not change how you think of yourself, you will be the same.
Romans 12:2 encourages us to "be transformed by the renewal of our minds". Why didn't it say be transformed by the renewal of our actions and deeds? This is because our actions and deeds come from a decision in our minds. So if your mind is set for greatness, your actions will follow that setting.

In this series we will look at different "elements" that are good and bad for our minds, and what it really means to be transformed by your mind and how powerful our thoughts can be to even shape us to the beings we are.

My great hope is that this series, and the blog as a whole, will not just give you a temporary inspiration to change, because that lasts for only a moment. It should give you continuous burning desire for you to change to change others, because that can last for a lifetime.

It starts with your mind.

Welcome to the As A Man Thinketh Series
