#StoriesOfGratitude

It's that time of the year again.

The campus is buzzing with excitement as people are anticipating one great thing: Going home.
It is also nearing the Christmas season and Christmas jingles can be heard in almost every corner. However, as per school tradition, there is an end of year activity for the last two days.

Do Something Cool (D.S.C) is a day where there are no classes but you have to do something that you wanted to do but haven't the time to do so. However, there is only one rule: it has to be super cool
Always wanted to build a Scooby Doo sandwich tower?
Wanted to produce that album or start up that blog?
If it's cool and achievable within 2 days, why not?

Everyone was so excited as they began to "plan something cool". Some were conducting a play production, painting on a canvas, making a poetry book, you name it. But there was one problem:
What was I going to do?

I sat down at my desk and thought deeply.

I do love sketching and drawing and I thought I would do a charcoal sketch of myself with deep symbolic meanings. My eyes lit up with excitement at the thought. I grabbed a plain paper and scribbled down the plan. I was so sure I was going to do this. Until a thought came to my mind:

Will this idea benefit you alone or will it benefit others as well?

I paused and realised that people may go "wow, you're talented". but won't have a lasting impact on them. After much thought, I scrapped the idea and came up with a new one:

He is. She is: I AM

This is a photo album I designed for different people who have influenced me greatly.

The inspiration behind it came when I was reflecting on my life. I realised that I have grown greatly from the way I look at things. However, the reason why I am on the path that I am right now is because of the people who helped me get there.

Paul gave thanks to the people in 1 Corinthians 1:4-5 by saying,
"I always thank my God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus.

For in him you have been enriched in every way—with all kinds of speech and with all knowledge"

I found this Scripture fitting to express my gratitude towards you. Behind a beautiful building, there are many hands at work, I choose this moment to appreciate you all.

I decided that you all deserve to be honoured on a hilltop.

I may not have mentioned every single person in the album otherwise it would have overflowed to 1000 pages. However, I still thank you for your influence that has greatly impacted me.

My last thank you goes to your reader. Thank you for taking time to read this post. You are the reason why I keep on writing.

My takeaway lesson for you is take time to think and thank the people who helped you be where you are. You will realise how blessed you are.

Stay Tuned for the Album.
